WHILST YOU ARCHIVE ME
This film is about violence, opportunity and awakening - in that order. There are thousands of images, artefacts and words connected to the global African, and other, historically persecuted communities hidden in archives and museums across Europe, America and Australasia. A lot of them ended up there as a result of violence…which often continues in the present day.
Being faced with these records provides an opportunity for reflection. Reflection can be the start of something beautiful.
